West Africa: Oral Peoples Strategy Team The West Africa Oral Peoples Strategy teams will help us reach the remaining unreached people groups of West Africa. The overwhelming percentage of these groups are non-literate or rather oral learners. Oral learners process and learn differently that traditional literate people. Our teams of 2 people are committed to learning local language and working with locals in composing Bible stories in chronological order that would explain God’s plan of reconciliation in a format that would be logical from their perspective. These stories will incorporate art forms that speak to the local cultures such as dance, music, pictures, and poetry.
According to the UN Human Development Index 2005, the least literate countries in the world are: Burkina Faso 13%, Niger 14% and Mali 19%--the heart of the West Africa region.
